Engineering Precision Since 1982

The more than four-decade history of Datcon is a story of engineering expertise and continuous development. Starting from custom measurement technology solutions, we have become a recognized player in the domestic and international industrial measurement markets.

The Beginnings and the First Breakthrough (1982 – 1989)

Datcon was founded in 1982 by two scientific associates of the former Measuring Instrument Research Institute: Béla Hajnal and Péter Miskovits, both certified MSc electrical engineers.
The initial period was characterized by solving unique measurement tasks, where professional thoroughness met practical needs. Our first clients included university departments, research institutes, and pharmaceutical factories.

The company’s reputation was established by its first significant product development: a data acquisition system expandable up to 200 channels. The device was characterized by modular design, outstanding accuracy, expandability, and system integrability. This equipment represented the technological state-of-the-art of the era and successfully proved its worth in university research labs, power plants, and technical testing institutes alike.

Portfolio Expansion and Specialization (1990 – 2000)

The year 1990 was a milestone for Datcon, marking the launch of our three defining product lines:

  • Intrinsically Safe (Exi) Protection: The DT900 device was born, opening the way to the pharmaceutical industry. Today, we offer 35 types of intrinsically safe devices.
  • Industrial Interface Modules: We developed our most significant product group, consisting of signal converters, transmitters, and galvanic isolators.
  • Digital Signal Processing (DSP): We began developing single- and three-phase multifunctional power meters, which – along with AC/DC transmitters – are already in their 3rd generation on the market.

Dynamic Development and Quality Management (2000 – Present)

The 2000s were dedicated to technological refinement and systemic growth.

  • 2003: We introduced the ISO quality management system, ensuring the constant high quality of our products.
  • Digitalization: Our internally developed ERP system and modern automated testing equipment guarantee the precision of production and inspection, minimizing the possibility of human error.

Facts and Figures

Today, our portfolio consists of more than 70 core products and 250 variants, covering a wide spectrum of industrial measurement and signal conversion.

Infrastructure and Credibility

The cornerstone of our measurement infrastructure is traceability: all our measuring instruments and calibrators are traceable to national standards. Our development activities are greatly supported by our thermal testing laboratory and our EMC laboratory, which provides solutions for the majority of pre-compliance measurements.

The management and staff of DATCON Kft. are committed to fulfilling all registered customer requirements on time, at optimal cost, and at the quality level expected by the customer, thereby continuously expanding their customer base in both domestic and foreign markets.

The management of DATCON Kft.

  • undertakes the obligation to operate and develop a process-oriented quality management system in its activities, in compliance with the
    ISO 9001:2015 and
    ISO/IEC 80079-34:2020 standards, and to continuously improve the effectiveness of the system;
  • clearly communicates to its managers and employees the importance of meeting customer, legal, and regulatory requirements;
  • defines quality objectives based on the company’s strategy, which serve as performance indicators for the organization’s various processes;
  • takes responsibility for providing the resources necessary for the operation of the quality management system;
  • conducts management reviews to evaluate the effective operation of the quality management system and to determine further tasks.

For Datcon, sustainability is not just a buzzword, but a guarantee of long-term operation. We design our equipment for a long life cycle, thereby reducing the generation of industrial waste. During our continuous infrastructural developments, we pay special attention to energy efficiency and the conscious use of resources to create value for future generations.
